Behavioral Disorders

(Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity). According to experts, Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD) has probably always existed. However, it was only clinically described at the beginning of the 20th century. It has had several names: from Hyperactive Child Syndrome (first appearing in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1968), to Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (1980), and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in 1987.

Today, the terms Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity (ADH) or Attention Deficit Disorder with or without Hyperactivity (ADHD), adopted in 2000 in Quebec, are commonly used. We have chosen the latter term for this description.
